Getting here from Rancho Bernardo
- Head for I-15 South from Rancho Bernardo Road, Bernardo Center Drive or Camino del Norte. From 4S Ranch, Camino del Norte and Rancho Bernardo Road both lead to I-15.
- Take SR-52 West toward the coast.
- Where SR-52 ends, merge onto I-5 South.
- Take the Grand Avenue / Garnet Avenue exit in Pacific Beach and head west on Garnet to 1062 Garnet Ave.
Drive time, parking and timing
Parking: street parking is available along Garnet Avenue and on the side streets nearby. If the first block is full, try the streets a little further from the strip.
Coming from Bernardo Heights, Westwood or 4S Ranch? Once you reach I-15, the route is the same.
Around Rancho Bernardo
Inland summers here run hotter than at the coast, so protect a new tattoo from direct sun on the drive home and while it heals. If you are planning a day at Lake Hodges, book the tattoo for after the hike, not before, and follow the aftercare instructions your artist gives you. Our tattoo aftercare page covers the basics.

Rancho Bernardo tattoo FAQs
About 25 miles. Take I-15 South to SR-52 West, then I-5 South to the Grand Avenue / Garnet Avenue exit in Pacific Beach and head west to 1062 Garnet Ave. Outside rush hour, plan on roughly 30 to 40 minutes.
That is your call, and a free consultation is a low-commitment way to decide. Look at our artists’ work online, call with questions, and come in when you are ready. Pacific Beach is a good day out on its own, with the beach a short walk from the studio.
Late morning and early afternoon are easiest, before the I-15 commute builds. We are open until 8pm most nights and until 10pm on Friday and Saturday, so an evening trip after traffic eases also works.
Yes. The beach and Garnet Avenue are a short walk from the studio, so a consultation or a session can fit into a day out. Book the tattoo time first, then plan the rest around it.
Heat is not a problem for the tattoo itself, but a healing tattoo needs to stay out of direct sun. Inland summers in Rancho Bernardo are hot, so plan sun cover for the drive home and the weeks after.
Yes. Browse our style pages and the tattoo artists page first, then call (858) 274-8282 with questions. A free consultation settles the design before you book a longer session.
Bigger pieces are often done over several visits. Ask at your consultation how the piece will be split up, so the number of long drives from 92127 stays as low as is sensible.
Eat beforehand, bring water and wear clothes that give easy access to the area being tattooed. After a long drive from Rancho Bernardo, that helps you stay comfortable.
