Tattoo Shop Serving Mira Mesa, San Diego

Walk-ins welcome · Free consultations · Tattooing Pacific Beach for almost 20 years
Mira Mesa is one of the closest big communities to our studio at 1062 Garnet Ave in Pacific Beach, roughly 13 miles away by I-805 and I-5. Sideshow Tattoo and Piercing is a walk-in tattoo shop with free consultations and artists who work in fine line, realism, neo-traditional, black and grey and custom styles.

Why Mira Mesa clients choose Sideshow in Pacific Beach

Mira Mesa is close enough that a tattoo can be an after-work stop or a weekend afternoon rather than a day trip. That changes how you can plan it: come in for a free consultation first, settle the design, then book the time the piece actually needs.
  • Walk-ins, every day. Open from 11am, with no booking required to start a conversation.
  • Artists you can look up. Our tattoo artists page introduces the team.
  • Your design, your pace. Nothing is decided at the consultation unless you want it to be.
  • Tattoos of every size. From a small symbol to a full sleeve.

Getting here from Mira Mesa

Pacific Beach is roughly 13 miles from Mira Mesa.
  1. Get on I-805 South from Mira Mesa Boulevard.
  2. I-805 merges into I-5 South in Sorrento Valley. Stay on I-5 South past the La Jolla and UTC exits.
  3. Take the Grand Avenue / Garnet Avenue exit and head west on Garnet to 1062 Garnet Ave.

Drive time, parking and timing

Outside rush hour, expect 20 to 30 minutes. The I-805 and I-5 merge in Sorrento Valley is the pinch point on weekday afternoons, so a later start or an earlier one makes the drive easier. We are open until 8pm Sunday to Thursday and until 10pm on Friday and Saturday.

Parking: plan on street parking along Garnet Avenue and the nearby side streets, and give yourself a few minutes to find a space.

Whether you start near Mira Mesa Boulevard, Camino Ruiz or Black Mountain Road, you will be on I-805 within minutes.

Around Mira Mesa

Mira Mesa is one of San Diego’s largest communities, built along Mira Mesa Boulevard, with Mira Mesa High School, Mira Mesa Community Park and the Mira Mesa Market Center as everyday landmarks. The tech and biotech offices of Sorrento Valley are right next door.

If you work in an office where a tattoo needs to stay covered, tell us before we plan the design. Size and placement can be chosen so that the piece shows or stays hidden, depending on what you want, and a free consultation is the right time to work that out.

Planning your Mira Mesa tattoo

Because Mira Mesa is a short drive away, a consultation is an easy first step. Bring a rough idea of the subject, the size and the placement, and leave with a plan.

Tell us at the consultation. Placements such as the upper arm, thigh or back can be covered by regular clothing, and we can plan the design around that.

Often, depending on the existing tattoo. Bring photos, and your artist will tell you honestly what is possible.

There is street parking on Garnet and the nearby side streets. Evenings and weekends are busier, so allow a few minutes to find a spot.

Pricing depends on size, detail and placement. Our San Diego tattoo pricing guide explains the factors, and a free consultation gives you a clear figure for your design.
